Grimmauld Place

It was bloody freezing in Grimmauld Place, Ron could hear Hermione’s teeth chattering from the cushions next to him. Continuing his gallant streak and hoping Hermione wouldn’t say no, he pulled off his jumper.

“Hermione?”

“Ron?”

“Are you cold?”

Had he heard her shivering? Hermione instantly tried to still her chattering teeth. “Yeah, everything about this place is cold.”

“I, um, uh, yeah, what I mean is. Here.” He handed his jumper up to girl resting only a couple inches higher.

“Are you sure Ron?”

“No, yeah. I’m good. You wear it. Honestly.”

Hermione slid the green jumper over her head and was immediately enveloped in Ron’s warmth and scent. She sighed blissfully, silently wishing she could roll over and snuggle into the boy himself.

Quietly, Hermione reached out and took Ron’s outstretched hand in hers, hoping he wouldn’t pull away.

Ron’s cheeks erupted in a blush as Hermione’s small hand grasped his. What was that noise she made after she put his jumper on?! He was sure his heart was beating so loud she’d be able to hear it.

They lay in the dark, holding hands, saying nothing, until they both finally fell asleep.
